Teaching “Controversial” Topics (with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights)

The Education Team at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights invites educators to a virtual professional learning workshop designed to support teachers across grade levels in navigating today’s most challenging classroom conversations.

Hosted by the Center’s Education Team and co-hosted by Emily Glankler, creator and host of Anti-Social Studies, this interactive session focuses on practical tools and strategies for teaching current and controversial topics while prioritizing both student safety and educator well-being.

Designed for educators at every grade level, the workshop offers guidance on facilitating respectful dialogue, navigating sensitive issues with confidence, and teaching real-world topics responsibly. This is a virtual event. Registration is required.
